Shine History
Shine Transportation was a vision of three men in November of 2001 and started operating January 1, 2002. Shine was founded and owned by: Paul M. Hough (President), Bradley M. Hough (Secretary & Treasurer). and Craig Whitacre (1st Vice President). The owners of Shine agreed God was speaking to them individually to move forward putting Faith in His Word, the Bible, to start a trucking company. They all simply wanted to share our Savior Jesus Christ with others using service, honesty, integrity, and a pursuit for excellence.
Philippians 2:14-15 “ Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will Shine among them like stars in the sky.” This verse was chosen to set the standard in which they worked. They determined they would not make excuses or complain about the obstacles that stood in front of any opportunity. They all had determination to make deliveries and make it easy for the customer to call, rely, and depend on them to serve their needs. As growth occurred and they hired more employees, they wanted to create a company culture that shared the same core values they founded the company on. They wanted to strive to give excellent service without any attention on us in order to bring glory to our God.
The ownership of Shine changed in 2003 when Paul and Brad bought Craig’s shares. At that time Paul and Brad each became 50% owners. In 2007 Paul retired, but retained ownership of his shares and Brad became the President. Both currently stay active in operations being a model of service to both customers and employees.
Shine believes In People. We are committed to serving customers and each other at Shine Transportation as it continues to grow. Shine’s commitment to its core values and a strong belief in people being God’s instruments is what allows us to write our history as a company every day and enjoy the promises of His Word.
